new years, made simple.

Our first New Years together. No plans. Fluidity, flexibility, openness. (Sort of encapsulates our relationship well, those words.)

A few days before New Years Eve, Chelsae texts with an invitation to hang at their new house. Food, games, drinks. Simple. Chill. Fun. It was just what we were looking for.  We were so in.

Then she asked if I'd be willing to make up a little New Years intention sheet for the party. Of course, I thought. Why hadn't I done this sooner?? I was so happy she'd asked.

I had pretty big plans for these sheets but then life and holidays and travel got in the way (and, well, a whole lot of relaxing...) and next thing I knew, it was 7PM on New Years Eve and we were headed to the party soon. I still had to cross the design off my to-do list.

So while the twice baked potatoes were in the oven, I whipped this baby up. No frills, no time to question my skills and overthink the design. Just simplicity at its finest.

I wanted these to be super, super simple, even in their color (black and white all the way). Five things to feel, five goals to hit. No more than that. No huge list of 100 things to do, no deep look back at 2015, no opportunity for analyzing. Just ten quick things.

We filled these out at the very end of the party, just the six of us, and it was really, really sweet. Some of us worked through it in a flash, others took their sweet time. It was all perfect.

Simple. Easy. Fun.

I think it's a good sign of things to come in 2016 :)

Happy New Year, friends! xo
